Slowly belly-crawling through the bushes, I scan the length for signs of enemy troops. I arrived at a rapid stop; mysteriously, a hidden wall blocks my forward progress. I crawl for the fringe of the brush, anxiously find an exposed trail, and into the foliage left of the path, figuring a different route may be to be able, but I am stymied again when i find myself stuck on the rock that raises only six inches up and running. Finally, I have found a means past these obstacles within the brush and silently reach my GPS designated destination marker, but my objective wouldn't clear. I give up, Defeated, I walk support the hill, walk along the path, which triggers a voiceover, which enables the GPS marker, which spawns enemies on the way before me that kill me.
Sniper: Ghost Warrior produces a uneven but type of charming first impression. While using Chrome 4 engine originally featured in Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood in 2009, Sniper bears a fair little bit of resemblance to previous year's game western, aside from, well, those trees and bushes. While character models look rough round the edges, the environments appear extensive and lush. What is more striking is the sniping mechanic itself. While Sniper: Ghost Warrior just isn't as excruciatingly susceptible to realism as, say, ARMA 2 or perhaps the original Operation: Flashpoint, it appears realistic. Shots from the titular sniper rifles in Ghost Warrior are susceptible to gravity and environmental effects from wind and so on, such that play is predicated less on twitch gunplay plus more on location up and taking the right shots at targets - a minimum of in the beginning.
Sniper: Ghost Warrior makes itself more accessible compared to the more stringent military sims by granting the same as sniper super powers; holding along the shift key while zoomed together with a sniper rifle causes the planet to slow, simulating the improved concentration of an secretly held breath from the trained marksman.
